Do I need bring a realtor when I visit a presentation center?
The choice is yours. We have skilled and knowledgeable representatives in all our presentation centers to answer all your questions and guide you through the home buying process. If you decide to work with a realtor, we are committed to respecting that relationship and strive to provide each party with the information they'll need to make a purchase decision.
I have already have a realtor, do they need to accompany me to each visit I make to the your sales office?
If you have a realtor, we recommend bringing them along on the first visit to establish the relationship. After that, how often you visit with or without them is up to you.
How does my realtor earn commissions?
On your first visit we'll register you and your realtor. If you do decide to buy a Woodbridge Home with your realtor, and your realtor was an active participant in your purchase experience, we will be responsible for paying your realtor commissions.
What type of warranties does Woodbridge Homes offer?
Woodbridge Homes offers some of the best warranties available in the new home industry, covering:
- 2 Year Materials & Labour Warranty
- First 12 months – coverage for any defect in materials and labour in the common property of a multi-unit building
- First 24 months – coverage for any defect in materials and labour supplied for the electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning delivery and distribution systems. Is my deposit on a Woodbridge home secure?
Woodbridge Homes' deposits are protected in an independent stakeholders trust account. By law, deposits cannot be used by Woodbridge Homes unless we have additionally protected the deposits with a independent third party bonding agreement.
When do I have to pay my deposit if I buy a new Woodbridge home today?
This varies from community to community and depends on their respective deposit requirements. Usually, an initial deposit investment of 5% of the Purchase Price at the time of purchase is required, with an additional 5% in 30-60 days, and the balance of the deposit required in 180 days. Please talk to one of property consultants for the specific requirements of the community you want o buy in.
When do I start making mortgage payments?
Your mortgage payments begin after your Completion Date.
What's the difference between a Completion Date and a Purchase Date?
The Completion Date is the day you receive the keys to your new home, and when the legal transfer of ownership between Woodbridge and yourself occurs. The Purchase Date is the date you sign your Agreement of Purchase and Sale.
Does Woodbridge Homes provide customer service after I buy and move in?
Woodbridge Homes has a Customer Care department to handle any of your warranty related requests. We also work the Strata Corporations and Property Management companies to make sure common area deficiencies are handled to your satisfaction.
What taxes do I have to pay when a buy a home?
